The apartment features an open-plan living and dining space, a double bedroom, and a twin room with generous beds, accommodating up to 4 guests.

 

Large open-ended sofas run parallel to the lounge's panoramic window, offering unobstructed views of the Matterhorn and Zermatt. The continuous wraparound balcony, which hugs the south and west facades, is accessible from the lounge and both bedrooms.

 

Every room frames a view

Beyond the lounge's Matterhorn views, both bedrooms and the kitchen look across the valley to the western mountain range, where you can spot tiny herds of grazing sheep, red trains weaving between buildings and paragliders landing.

 

The location

Steps from the Sunnegga funicular and an 8-minute walk to the village centre / railway station. Local electric taxis can drop you off directly in front of the building on Wiestistrasse, where a fourth floor walk-up rewards you with elevated, panoramic views.

 

Ski gear logistics

Skis are kept in the street-level store with boot storage located nearby, as ski boots are prohibited on the communal stairs. Alternatively, heated depots are available at Sunnegga Station, which local hire shops provide on a complimentary basis for gear hire clients.

 

The design story

This is our private home when we return from London, built on our grandfather’s former land. Inside this apartment, I have curated a mix of select designer pieces, lighting, original artwork, and vintage reproduction prints - linking our family’s Zermatt heritage to my design background.
